EmeraldMysts begain as the tragic result of pack wars. Winters in Russia are known for their furiosity, but for 5 consecutive years, winter ravaged over Russia's lands. Ice killed all the vegitation, herbivores that didn't freeze to death, moved on to less harsh areas, leaving the prediors to starve themselves. Wolf packs once populated most of Russia's forests in harmony, careful not to offend one another. In this time of hardship though, the packs faught, for wider territories and hopefully, better hunting. Summer came but brought no bounty, most of the prey animals were driven away or killed by the feirce winter and were hesitant to return, those who did, fell victim to starving packs. Still there was not enough food to go around, packs continued to fight for what little food there was. Winter came again all to soon and tore through Russia, clinching its icy grip over the lands again and released it to another unbountiful summer.

The following years passed in much the same fashion and the wolfpacks turned on each other, no longer fighting for just territory but to kill one another for food. In one such onslaught, A year old, brother and sister fled for their lives as their pack was ravaged. They ran till their pads bled and chests heaved. A soft mist settled over the siblings, hiding them from their pursuers and they slept beneath the safty of their misty blanket. They, DiamondPelt and AzureSki, awoke to a beautiful scene. The sun was rising over the treetops, shadows fell over their hiding place. Both were in awe as the hovering morning mist reflected the sun's rays. In time the sibling settled here, finding that the nearby brook and river hide bountiful fish beneath its heavy layer of ice. With some effort to break the sheild, one could mearly dip their maw in and pluck out a fish. Though a single fish would not suffice a hunger ridden wolf, the bountiful supply kept them from starving. Over the fallowing years other wolves stumbled upon the Siblings clearing. DiamondPelt and AzureSki welcomed everywolf who came to them time, food and rest. Most left once they were well enough but others remained.

In the ears of the famine, many wolves came to find themselves in the mist shrouded clearing and bathed in the hospitaity of the Siblings finding. Those who left spred word to other weary wolves about the "Emerald Mist" and what the brother and sister offered wanderers. Wolves came alone, in pairs, sometimes in families, to seek refuge. By the end of the 5th wintir, a promising outlook appeared to the wolves. Caribou returned in massive herds, Elk and deer returned to their thickets while rodents built homes beneath the earth and in the trees, the forest was alive again, having survived mother nature's furry.

Though the land was bountiful once more, still the wolves did not leave what they felt was their home. Though they had never formally called themselves a pack, the wolves looked to the brother and sister for help and guidence. They looked to them, as Alphas. After discussion and many eager yips and yowls, they took on the name of their home as their packname. The EmeraldMysts were born.

The pack grew and prospered, the wovles rose and hunted with the morning mist and slept beneath its cloudy cover at night. One night, years later, DiamondPelt's now 6 year old body released its soul that disappated with the mist. The passing of the alpha male was hard on everyone, especially his sister, though she lived on till the ripe old age of 9 before she too was lost to the void. Though both alphas were gone, others rose to follow in their pawprints, and the pack declared that in honour of the siblings memory, Everywolf born into the EmeraldMysts pack would bare a gemstone namesake.

Today, the pack is led by Amythist and Aventurine, the first mated pair to stand together at its head since its creation. It is up to them to carry on the pack's legacy, keeping it open to anywolf that wishes to call it home and leading it with all the love, and care that the Siblings who birthed it had. Can they do it?
